Which type of seizure originates on one side of the brain?

Focal seizures (also called partial seizures) start in one hemisphere (one side) of the brain. Symptoms depend on the area affected and can include unusual sensations, muscle twitching, or altered awareness. In contrast, generalized seizures involve both hemispheres from the onset.
